Zusammenfassung: | This article focuses on reconstruction of conditions for formation and evolution of hydrocarbon systems (HC systems) in the Storozhevskaya-1 well area of the Vychegda Trough based on one-dimensional basin modeling. The key background factors for studying the potential oil and gas content of the Vychegda Trough feature its poor geological and geophysical data availability and the geology aspects, including a thick sedimentary cover, multiple direct oil indications and source rock deposits at several stratigraphic datums. Basin modeling is one of the principal tools in modern petroleum geology for predicting oil and gas content of sedimentary basins. In this study, geological and geochemical data from deposits accessed by the Storozhevskaya-1 well and thermal and calibration data were used to construct a one-dimensional basin model. The models of sedimentary sequences subsidence, changes in temperature, vitrinite reflectance and kerogen transformation ratio of source rock in the Storozhevskaya-1 well section were obtained. Based on the modeling results, the key findings on the formation and evolution of the Proterozoic (Riphean and Vendian) and Devonian-Permian HC systems are presented. This study is a fundamental step towards a two- and three-dimensional basin modeling of the Vychegda Trough to provide an oil and gas potential overview of the region under study. |
