Zusammenfassung: | Background: Alloxan causes damage to pancreatic islet cells, so insulin production decreases and triggers stress oxidative. MMPK polyherbal preparation has been developed as an adjunct therapy in DM. The content of MMPK preparations is suspected as an antioxidant and hepatoprotector. We will determine the hepatoprotector and antioxidative activity of MMPK preparations in alloxan-induced Sprague Dawley rats. Methods: This experimental laboratory study used a pre-posttest with a control group design. Data were analyzed using different tests between groups with ANOVA and 95% confidence level. Results: The results showed that SGOT, SGPT and MDA levels in the alloxan group were higher than in the standard group. SGOT, SGPT levels at the time and MDA in the MMPK group were lower than those in the alloxan group. All test groups were shown to have lower SGOT, SGPT and MDA levels than the alloxan group (p |
