Zusammenfassung:This study aims to analyze variations in the abundance, richness, and diversity of grasshopper species among several study sites in Central and East Java. This research was conducted in five locations in Central Java and three locations in East Java. In each locations the samplings were conducted in five plots. Grasshopper sampling was carried out by the sweeping method using an insect net with each plot size of 2 x 10 m2. The data were analyzed using the Shannon Wiener index (diversity analysis) and the Bray-Curtis index. A total of 625 individual grasshoppers were collected. This study collected and identified a total of 625 individual grasshoppers. Oxya hyla and Atractomorpha crenulata were co-dominant species with total 219 individuals account for 35% of total grasshoppers. The highest number of individuals was found in Sapuran (SA) (41.2 ± 2.42 individuals), while the lowest was found in Tlogowungu (TL) (3 ± 0.97). The highest grasshopper species diversity was found in Baturaden (BR) (H' = 2.25), while the lowest was in Srengat (SR) (H' = 1.25). The species composition of grasshoppers in Baturaden (CJ1) had the highest similarity with that from Tayu (TA) (88%), while the lowest was found in the entire community of seven locations with the community in Tlogowungu (TL) (26.5%).
