Zusammenfassung: | Managing IoT networks is complicated due to the increasing number of devices in the network. Furthermore, several challenges are raised regarding communication, traffic patterns, and characteristics. The network scalability should be evaluated by modelling the behaviour of IoT devices, particularly traffic patterns. However, as IoT is relatively new, it is challenging to model thoroughly. Many models are proposed, but no standard modelling paradigm is available for real-world complex IoT-based scenarios addressing all the requirements. This research provides an overview of network analysis and modelling, focusing on the central issues to introduce specific knowledge that helps to understand the traffic and guide the new research directions in network traffic modelling and analysis. |
