Zusammenfassung: | Pregnant women are at risk of contracting Toxoplasma gondii due to immunodeficiency, as the increased risk of miscarriage is associated with infected pregnant women or fetal abnormalities. Symptoms in children after birth are jaundice, enlarged liver, spleen, lymph nodes, vision and hearing problems, partial encephalitis, microcephaly, as well as motor delay and mild to severe episodes of mental retardation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of T. gondii on the biochemical indicators. The current study included the collection of 50 serum samples from pregnant women infected with the parasite T. gondii. The results showed that the incidence of infection reached 40% and the highest age group (18-20) reached 16%, followed by the age group (21-25) and the group (26-30) with a percentage of 12%.
