Zusammenfassung: | Non-linear optical (NLO) crystals have vital status in applications in telecommunications, THz imaging and spectroscopy, laser technology, optical communication, and optical storage technologies. The present review article is an attempt to focus on the lithium sulfate monohydrate (LSMH) family of single crystals, having a wide spectrum of applications in NLO assistant devices. The different methods of growth of bulk single crystals of these materials have been reviewed. Non-linear optical studies presented by several researchers are discussed, and it is determined that the addition of a dopant in the crystal lattice of LSMH increases the efficacy of the grown single crystals. Also, this article compared the optical, thermal, and mechanical properties of pure and doped LSMH single crystal and concluded it to be a strong candidate for photonic devices. |
