Zusammenfassung: | This paper investigates the thermal and hydraulic performance of Lance and Offset (L and O) fin type compact Heat Exchangers (CHE) with different fluids viz Air, water, and Ethylene Glycol. Industry-standard CFD code developed on the finite volume method is used to simulate the three types of fluid driven by conduction and convection heat transfer. An optimum mesh is generated based on the least elements required for the simulations that do not impact the solutions. Velocity, temperature, and pressure variations in the domain are discussed. The j and f factor correlations are developed as a function of Re and can serve as a guide in CHE design. |
