Zusammenfassung:Car drivers often have difficulty finding the location of the nearest available car park that can be occupied to park their car. These conditions can cause delays in the parking process and can cause congestion in the parking area. This study aims to design a system to detect the availability of car parking spaces. The research method used in this research is a descriptive analysis method using a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that the design of a car park availability detection system can provide information on the position of the parking lot using the navigation on a digital map that can be accessed via the car driver’s smartphone. Thus, this research has contributed to optimizing the car parking arrangement process that making it easier for drivers. The central concept of this system is the search for available parking spaces where data is taken from ultrasonic sensors and then sent to the cloud to be processed to produce parking space availability information that can be displayed through a mobile application. In addition, this system also applies the Greedy algorithm to provide recommendations for the closest parking location that can be occupied. In the end, this system is useful as a tool to help optimize the car parking process to be a more effective and efficient so that with this system it is expected to make it easier for car drivers to park their cars.
