Zusammenfassung:Natural fibre composites are showing tremendous potential to be an alternative reinforcement for synthetic fibre in composites. This paper deals with natural fibres such as kenaf fibres and veldt grape plant which belongs to the grape family. These fibres are varied in their length and content and placed in random orientation for reinforcing with epoxy based composites. The veldt grape fibres are mixed with kenaf fibre in several composition and several composite laminates are fabricated. The fabricated epoxy based composite laminates are then investigated for its mechanical properties. It is concluded from the results that the composites reinforced with 20% kenaf fibre and 15% veldt grape fibre fibres produce higher tensile strength, compressive strength and flexural strength when compared to other combinations of composite laminates.
