Zusammenfassung:The present paper reports on the distortion distribution in CO2 laser beam welding of 5 mm thick SS316L to IN625 plates. The L4 orthogonal array was selected for the experiments. In accordance with the Design of Experiments, three variables are selected in two levels, and four trials are undertaken (DOE). The weld process parameters have been optimized to achieve defect-free welds with full penetration welding. Successful full penetration joints were verified with radiography and macrostructure examination using any combinations. Distortion was measured with a vernier height gauge, which is in safe limits.
