Evaluation of IL-4 and IL-35 levels in Iraqi fuel stations workers suffering from allergic rhinitis

Zusammenfassung: | Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is the most public form of nasal allergy, which is mediated by various anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-35 (IL-35) and Interleukin–4 (IL-4) respectively. Objective. We assessed the effect of the allergen on the serum levels of IL-4 and IL-35 in patients with AR, and their role in the appearance and progression of allergic rhinitis in Iraqi fuel station workers in Baghdad. Methods. A hundred patients with allergic rhinitis and thirty healthy control adults aged 20–59 years were studied. Serum levels of IL-4 and IL-35 were measured by sandwich ELISA for immunological testing and levels for eosinophil and Leukocyte by complete blood count (CBC) for hematological assay. Results. The results showed highly significant increases in total WBC, IL4, IL3, and eosinophil (P=0.00), (P |
