Zusammenfassung:The study presented here focuses upon the MHCV truck segment in general and particularly on multi axle heavy trucks of 25 tonnes GVW and above, which is seeing an ever-growing acceptance among the Indian trucking fraternity – due to their supposed higher productivity, operational efficiency and consequentially higher profitability. The study highlights the need for multi-axle trucks to have high standards of safety by providing insight upon the efficiency of the drivers, which can be further improved by an improved working condition by providing air-conditioned and ergonomically upgraded factory-made cabins, as the degree of tiredness felt among the respondent drivers were observed to be less in comparison to the drivers in non-air-conditioned cabins.
