Zusammenfassung:The X-ray radiation absorption from aluminum metal foam was conducted at the various of thickness from 5-40 mm, with the cavity diameters of 2, 3, and 4 mm, and at the energy of 0.1; 0.662 and 1 MeV. The modeling was carried out using the Monte Carlo N-Particle eXtended (MCNPX) program. Calculation of the radiation absorption from the modeling results shows that the performance of aluminum metal foam is close to pure lead plates. This means that aluminum metal foam is expected to be used as radiation shielding for replacing pure lead material.
