Zusammenfassung: | A micro strip fed patch antenna for ultra wideband applications is presented in this paper. The substrate used is low cost FR4 epoxy, having a dielectric constant of 4.4. Ultra wide band operation is achieved by means of a partial ground plane placed below the substrate and also with the help of a rectangular slot in the ground plane. The radiating patch is square in shape. Also, a rectangular shaped slot is placed in the patch. A wide bandwidth of 9.1 GHz spanning from 2.5 GHz to 11.6 GHz is obtained. Ansoft HFSS has been used for designing the antennas and the simulated results show that the proposed antennas have a return loss less than -10 dB over the required bandwidth of operation. |
