Characterization of Donggala’s limestone for hydroxyapatite base material

The availability of natural resources of limestone in Indonesia is very abundant and scattered almost evenly throughout Indonesia, including Donggala Regency Central Sulawesi Province. This study includes preparation, calcination and the characterization of Donggala Regency limestone material. The purpose of research is to identify the initial concerning properties of Limestone Donggala to be used as a material candidate for medical applications such as bone graft deviation. The results of the XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) and XRD (X-Ray Difraction) characterization show that limestones from Labuan Bajo Village, Donggala District meet the standards to be processed into hydroxyapatite.
