Zusammenfassung: | In the oil and gas industry, the moving of materials and equipment is often carried out using forklift. Thus, a safe and reliable forklift is required to guarantee the moving processes to proceed safely and smoothly. To this end, one of the means to ensure that the lifting equipment could perform well is by conducting preventive maintenance. Preventive maintenance, which is another form of controlling risks related to equipment, consists of several methods such as: lubrication, cleaning and inspection. The inspection is a comprehensive preventive maintenance during which not the evaluation is conducted not only on the function of equipment, but also on the safety of the operators who utilize the equipment and the surrounding environment where the equipment is operated. In this study, the preventive maintenance was performed on forklifts by following the Lifting and Transporting Instruments Inspection based on the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 8 2020 on Occupational Safety and Health for Lifting and Transporting Instruments. The methods carried out were visual inspection, technical measurement, non-destructive testing, function testing and load lifting testing. These procedures resulting in several recommendations, namely the necessity to repair the safety equipment section (the horn), the urgent replacement of brake lights and the required action on the leak in hydraulic seals. |
