Zusammenfassung: | The Increasing the quantity of people’s needs for motorized vehicles raises various problems, including causing pollution or air pollution. Motorized vehicles can emit exhaust gas, including SOx, NOx, CO, HC, and dust particulates. These exhaust emissions play a role in environmental damage and include gases that are harmful to humans. This research was conducted to determine the effect of adding a ceramic honeycomb catalyst with monoethanolamine solution as a catalytic converter system in the exhaust in order to reduce exhaust emissions. The research method uses a gasoline-fueled pick-up vehicle with an engine capacity of 1493cc using a gas analyzer, by varying the area of the ceramic catalyst contact area (75680 mm2, 151360 mm2, 227040 mm2, 302720 mm2) and the percentage of MEA-water solution is 20% of CO and HC exhaust emissions. The results showed that the extensive use of the ceramic catalyst contact area used in the catalytic converter system had an impact on reducing exhaust emissions. By using a large contact area ceramic catalyst can reduce exhaust emissions of CO and HC. |
