Performance evaluation of stripper (130-D) at the IB production department of Pt Petrokimia Gresik

Process condensate stripper (130-D) used in the ammonia production at PT Petrokimia Gresik plays role in removing dissolved CO2, methanol, and ammonia. The stripper needs to be regularly analysed for its performance, particularly with regards to its mass flow. Based on the comparison of mass flow between design data and actual data, stream 90, stream 92, and stream 4 in the actual data were observed to be smaller than the mass flow in the design data. The mass flows in the actual data were smaller than that of the design data due to the long lifetime of the equipment. Therefore, the equipment’s performance decreased. Decreasing of actual data of streams was resulted from decrease of the actual bottom and top stripper temperatures then releasing pressure decreased.
