Zusammenfassung:The evolution in network technology has extended the MPLS network to a transport profile so-called MPLS-TP, thus providing several benefits on data exchange over optical networks. In power utility system, for instance, the optical network is used for telecontrol and teleprotection signals. A strict requirement to ensure low delay in transporting the data traffic, so-called asymmetrical delay is very important due to the critical mission in protection. Therefore, this paper demonstrates the MPLS-TP network performance for line differential protection application in two main assessments involving power systems and communication test cases. The main objective is to ascertain that the line differential protection is able to work as TNB network requirements under MPLS-TP-based optical network as well as for a guideline before installation in the future pilot project. In overall, the findings suggest the MPLS-TP service for protection application complies with the TNB requirement and the details are discussed in this paper.
