Zusammenfassung: | The investigation of constituent component of solid propellant is reported to determine the best oxidation agent for solid single based propellant component. A series of oxidation agent which were observed as inorganic oxidation agents are Potassium nitrate (KNO3) and Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7). The evaluation test result of 1% solution in water for pH value are 6.20 and 4.12, while the conductivity value are 5855 µs/cm and 7624 µs/cm at 27.5 ˚C respectively. Identification of spectroscopy molecule by UV-Vis region was confirmed for maximum wavelength of 5% K2Cr2O7 solution was at 485 nm while KNO3 almost undetected. In this report, the effects of crystallization parameters were carried out for K2Cr2O7 and KNO3 to observe the morphological and physical characteristics of the crystals. It was found that the crystallization pattern was slowly cooled and above 500 stirrer rpm, smooth, spherical and transparent crystals were obtained. Irregularly shaped crystals are obtained under rapid cooling patterns and/ or stirring speeds of less than 500. The XRD pattern also shows that there is no amorphous phase on the surface of K2Cr2O7 and KNO3. |
