Zusammenfassung:The article provides a non-stationary dynamic problem of the seismic load effect on a dam-type body. The finite element method for the numerical solution of dynamic problems allows the equation of motion to be reduced to a system of second-order differential equations to displacements at the nodal points. The solution to this equation is based on the Newmark method. A non-stationary process in the Voigt body under the influence of seismic load is investigated. The results are compared with accelerograms obtained during the Gazli earthquake on a nine-point scale. Calculations were performed depending on the dimensions of the dam base. Analysis of the calculations showed that for large dimensions of the dam foot, the results almost coincide with the initial accelerogram; with a decrease in the thickness of the dam foot, the results differ significantly
