Spectrophotometric determination of desloratadine in pure form and in its pharmaceutical formulations
Desloratadine has been determined using a simple spectrophotometric process. The process used a proton transfer reaction with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) to produce a colored solution with a maximum absorbance of 435 nm, a molar absorptivity of 7.49× 104 l/mol.cm, and a Sandell's sensitivit...

Zusammenfassung: | Desloratadine has been determined using a simple spectrophotometric process. The process used a proton transfer reaction with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) to produce a colored solution with a maximum absorbance of 435 nm, a molar absorptivity of 7.49× 104 l/mol.cm, and a Sandell's sensitivity of 0.0223 g/cm2, a relative error of -2.42 to -1.80 % and a relative standard deviation ranging from 0.23 to 4.0 %. The method complies with Beer law in the concentration range 1-14 µg.ml−1. Desloratadine has been effectively determined using the current method in both pure and pharmaceutical formulations. |
