Zusammenfassung: | Biomass waste is a renewable and usable energy source. One example of biomass is coffee husks and corncobs which are commonly used as feed ingredients or fuel. The coffee husks and corncobs is developed into composite briquettes which can be used as an alternative fuel source by the community. In this study, the briquettes developed made by carbonized waste biomass then mixing the material with adhesives and predetermined composition variation. Afterwards the briquettes were printed and several analytical tests were carried out to obtain good quality briquettes according to the charcoal briquette standard. The results of the analysis show that the density values about 0.41 - 0.76 gram/cm3. The value of moisture content approximately 2.10% - 16.14%, ash content around 3.63% - 10.69%, the volatile matter about 12.55% - 51.25%, the fixed carbon around 45.19-72.60%, the burning rate about 0.16-0.77 g/minutes, and the calorific value about 1065-1910 joule. All of the characterization test values in this study are in accordance with the standards. |
