Zusammenfassung:The study of solvent extraction of Cobalt (II) ion by a new azo derivative of 8-hydroxyquinolin (DPDQ) had been synthesized. many effected parameters on extraction process was studied such as acidity of medium that founded equal to (pH=10); and ten minutes was enough to the equilibrium of extraction; polarity of solvents was tell us the effective of dielectric constant of solvents on extraction process; interference of some anion and cation that effected on extraction; redox agent effected on metal ion that extracted by ligand in different oxidation state ; optimum metal concentration that used in extraction method; effected of different salt such as sodium chloride ,sodium nitrate &effect of temperature that indicated to the stability of extracted complex in different temperatures & The thermodynamic functions (ΔH, ΔG, ΔS) were calculated its indicated that the reaction between the ligand and the ion metal was exothermic and spontaneous . The extraction stoichiometry was studied using two methods Job’s &Molar ratio. It was found to be (M: L) (1:2) the shape of complex was octahedral. The constant of stability of complex in method’s mole ratio was calculated. The spectroscopy of UV-visible, F.T.I. R, HNMR,CNMR, and mass were study for both the reagent & complex in organic phase that identification the ligand and complex .Other physical constants such as melting point & conductivity were studied. Some biological & drug were used to extracted cobalt ion from it as applications.
