Zusammenfassung: | A microbial fuel cell generates electric current by using a high-energy oxidant and bacteria which copies the bacterial interactions that take place in the natural environment. In these cells, electrons are transported by bacteria like Listeria which passes through the cell wall into the surrounding environment by the use of Flavin molecules. The energy in these bacterial microbes is created by various biochemical processes such as photosynthesis, decomposition, and the establishment of mutual and symbiotic relationships. In this paper, we present a review how the microbes are used to generate electricity and their various applications in bio-recovery, wastewater treatment, biosensors, phototrophic biofilms, etc. |
