Zusammenfassung: | Atherosclerosis is caused by high levels of fat and cholesterol in the blood. Materials known to reduce fat and cholesterol levels are avocado seeds and roselle flowers. About 64% of the antioxidant content of avocados is in the seeds. Avocado seeds also contain a high level of phenol, saponins, and flavonoid phenols can reduce fat and cholesterol levels through upregulation of LDL receptor expression, inhibit lipid synthesis by the liver, and lipoprotein secretion. Roselle flowers contain anthocyanin, flavonoids, and phenols, cardio protective substances preventing atherosclerosis. This study aims to determine and compare the effectiveness of avocado seeds and roselle lowers in reducing fat and cholesterol levels in mice treated with hypercholesterolemia. This research is an experimental study with a Posttest-Only Control-Group Design. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan Multilevel Range Test (DMRT) posthoc, with a significance level of (P>0.05). Based on the results of ANOVA analysis of the increase in weight of mice, it showed that the treatment P2 had a significant difference in the weight gain of mice (P |
