Zusammenfassung: | Hypertension is a circulatory system disorder with high morbidity and mortality, stimulating uric acid crystal blockage in blood vessels. The study aimed to analyze the correlation between capillary blood uric acid (UA) and blood pressure (BP) in adults. The cross-sectional study was conducted in Kedung Cangkring village, Sidoarjo city, East Java province, Indonesia. The study used 10 males and 64 females were BP tested, consisting of Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) and Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP). Afterward, capillary blood uric acid levels were determined by using Point of Care Testing (POCT) meter. The mean of SBP and DBP were obtained at 126.00±28.36 mmHg and 85.00±18.41 mmHg in males, in females about 120.60±21.96 mmHg and 80.78±13.84 mmHg. Uric acid levels in males about 6.82±1.87 mgdL−1 and females about 5.88±1.74 mgdL−1. Thus, the study revealed a significant relationship between SBP and capillary blood UA in females. In contrast with the association between SBP and capillary blood UA in females and both SBP and DBP in males. |
