Zusammenfassung:The research investigates the GCR commitments of Japanese companies listed in the 2020 Fashion Transparency Index. We found that the Japanese companies listed in the Index have relatively high positions in the ranking, and higher than average scores regarding their transparency regarding their GCR policies. However, only three of the seven companies, namely Asics, Uniqlo and Mizuno publish a list of their suppliers. We have linked the Indonesian suppliers of these three Japanese companies to membership in the Better Work Indonesia program. It appears that the policies of these three Japanese companies which all have stated a strong GCR commitment, does not guarantee participation of their suppliers in the Better Work Indonesia program.
