This review aims to understand the audience's viewing patterns in different platforms towards the different genres of shows. Content consumption has become the favorite time of our daily activities. Viewers are consuming a lot of content through different shows. It has become important to understand what genre of shows people are watching and the platform through which they are consuming this content. There is also a need to understand whether the audience is consuming the content because it is available or consuming the content because they like the content. This review will analyze the different patterns to give knowledge about audience choice in genres of shows irrespective of the platforms and how platform shift has happened in consuming content in the audience due to the rise of internet disruption. It will further help the producers, directors, and content creators to understand the interests of the viewers so that they can make quality content available for them based on their interests.
