Zusammenfassung: | Edge detection in gravity imaging is commonly applied to localize significant changes for identifying the phenomena that might cause them. In this paper, we applied the techniques to the gravity anomaly data of Java Arc from satellite altimetry. The general main tectonic features can be observed from the free-air and the calculated simple Bouguer, which have sufficient resolution and are commonly used for regional tectonic analysis. However, we need to delineate more detailed structures for potential active tectonic. Derivative methods applied were second vertical derivative, analytic signal, tilt derivative (TDR) and the horizontal derivative from the TDR. The second vertical derivative and tilt derivative appear to give apparent edge enhancements, where several lines can be correlated to the known active faults. While horizontal derivative of the TDR presents finer lineations, but should be evaluated cautiously to relate to any geological features. |
