Zusammenfassung: | Vanadium oxides have been used in many applications such as sensor, energy storage, and smart window applications. We report the potential use of vanadium oxides as a photocatalyst to degrade methylene blue dye. The material was synthesized using the hydrothermal process at l20°C for 48 hours. The XRD pattern of the synthesized material showed the crystalline phase of V2O5, VO2(B), and mixed-valence vanadium oxides species. The morphology of the sample was examined using the SEM method, which showed irregular morphology. The photocatalytic test was performed under UV irradiation using the batch reactor method, and the degradation percentage of methylene blue concentration was determined using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. The highest percentage for methylene blue by vanadium oxide material is up to 80.84% under UV irradiation. |
