Zusammenfassung:The studies on the behaviour of geopolymer concrete have been drastically moved on from micro to macro-level scale owing to their expediency in both environmental and structural aspects. Among all the applications of concrete, the most productive one is nevertheless, prestressed concrete (PSC) structural members. This review article is aimed towards the compiling of various findings reported earlier on the structural performance of geopolymer concrete over various structural elements and thereby provided with an idea of involving further improvements in this type of concrete towards the application over realtime structural elements. This review highlights all possible prerequisite properties, for structural members to be incorporated with geopolymer concrete, comprising of both compression and flexural members. The overall inference obtained states that, there are no detrimental issues in adopting geopolymer concrete over prestressing applications in terms of strength and durability. Also, it is suggested that extensive research is to be performed to provide more economical and realistic design criteria for the utilization of geopolymer concrete in major structural elements involving prestressing technology for large scale applications that exhibit the future challenge and also in formulating standard design guidelines for the same.
