Zusammenfassung: | The low quality and creativity of questions oblige lecturers in the internal environment of the Computer Engineering Study Program, Medan State Polytechnic, to monitor and evaluate the end-of-semester exams. This research was conducted in the internal environment of the Computer Engineering Study Program by involving students from the Computer Engineering Study Program who took and carried out the final semester exams in Mathematics I course. This activity began in early July 2020 by developing monitoring and evaluation instruments for the final semester exams of Mathematics I. The research object is the final semester exam questions and special exams held in semester one students taking the Mathematics I course. This research aims to analyze the effect of material, construction, and language on Mathematics I exam questions on successful students getting maximum grades and make guidelines for lecturers in planning, implementing learning, and improving the learning process continuously. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from the results of questionnaires filled out by students distributed through WhatsApp class groups. The analytical method used in this study is the structural equation model (SEM) analysis. The results of this study have proven that the discriminant validity values for the three contents are said to be good if the square root of the Average Variance Extracted (AVE) value is above (0.50). The content of the material, construction, and language in math problems is the content that is very influential on the final score obtained by students with a p-value |
