Fabrication of paddy cutter

For many years we have known that farmers are facing so many problems in reaping and harvesting [1]. There are so many tools and machines that can cut the paddy but there are many existing solutions but farmers are not satisfied. With these solutions they are facing health issues like back pain as it has heavy weight and also causes injuries during operation. Reaping [2] is the process of cutting grains or pulses for harvesting either by using a sickle or a reaper machine. Harvesting is the process of gathering a rice crop from the fields. Manual cutting is the most common method of rice harvesting. The rice crop is cut by simple hand using tools like scythe and simple hand-held knives. Usually, farmers were used to holding the stems by pointing their thumb upwards in order to cut crops. It is effectively suitable for lodged crop conditions. As it is labour intensive, the number of persons required are more to manually collect the harvested crop, but a lot of manual work is involved to cut paddy using this type of tools. There are so many machines that can cut the paddy like brush cutter, petrol push type rice cutter etc. In petrol push type cutters, the problem of mowing tight corners and edges is not accurate. These types of machines also need regular servicing and sometimes need to change the parts, but these are having higher costs that farmers cannot afford to purchase and also people are supposed to weigh and perform cutting operations as it is a huge equipment that farmers cannot handle easily. The main objective of our project is to innovate a paddy cutting machine that reduces manual work in reaping at low cost so that all kinds of farmers can easily handle and afford it. We are planning to innovate a new kind of paddy cutter that performs angular rotation by a quick return mechanism where the farmer is supposed to move the machine forward manually with the help of three wheels attached at the bottom to the machine, and also, we are planning to arrange a handle for the farmer to hold comfortably in order to push it forward and cutting operation is performed automatically. The cutter is provided with sharp blades that rotate at higher speed which is sufficient to cut the paddy crops easily.
