Zusammenfassung:Earthquakes are vibrations that suddenly occur on the earth’s surface caused by a shift in the earth’s plates. Sulawesi Island is one of the earthquake-prone areas in Indonesia. The impact caused by an earthquake varies depending on its magnitude and depth. This research aims on grouping of earthquake-prone areas on the island of Sulawesi based on their magnitude and depth. This grouping has been done can be done using the data mining techniques, namely clustering. The clustering method used in this research is agglomerative hierarchical clustering. The data used in this study were obtained from United States Geological Survey (USGS). Based on grouping 751 earthquake data from January 1971 to December 2020 using average linkage the research found that there are 2 clusters on Sulawesi Island with a Silhouette coefficient of 0.68.
