Zusammenfassung:The monitoring studies carried out on ash dumps of Sredneuralskaya and Verkhnetagilskaya Power Plants (Middle Urals) showed that recultivation measures (covering with a layer of peat from 10–15 to 20–40 cm, as well as perennial grasses seeding such as Bromopsis inermis (Leyss.) Holub, Dactylis glomerata L. and Phleum pratense L. made it possible to create long-term, stable, highly productive, and economically valuable artificial phytocenosis in ash dumps. Recultivation measures contributed to the creation of favourable conditions for plant growth. The most promising for growing on ash dumps with peat application in the Middle Urals was Bromopsis inermis.
