Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, the thermal analysis of the Iraqi building wall consists of mortar layers and brick containing phase change material (PCM) for use in hot climates is provided. The aim of using the PCM is to use its high latent fusion heat to reduce the temperature by absorbing heat from the bricks during the fusion process before it reaches the interior. The model includes a composite wall consist of two layers of mortar and bricks with cylindrical holes filled with PCM called (TW) or filled with PCM mixed with nano called (TWN) or filled with mortar to form the domestic wall called NTW. The problem is solved by using the finite volume method in a three-dimensional space. The enthalpy method was used to analyze the PCM as well as the mortar and bricks. The results obtained show that the use of pure PCM and nano-enhanced PCM will lead to reducing the peak inner surface temperature by 4.7°C and 4.4°C, respectively. While the time lag due to use the of pure PCM and PCM mixed with nano was 2 hours for each. |
