Zusammenfassung: | This pilot study aims to show the influence of implementing the output correction factors on the calculated dose distribution in static photon beams for three treatment plans, specifically with a treatment planning system that used the Pencil Beam dose calculation algorithm. For this, two beam data sets were used to configure the treatment planning system (uncorrected and corrected output factors). The evaluation was performed with a gamma index analysis using 3 mm/3% criteria. The results have shown that there- are no important differences between dose distributions. However, the evaluated parameters that showed important differences were the monitor units between uncorrected and correct beam data. For monitor units comparison, it was found a maximum percentage difference of 1.6, 2.9, and 2.5%for patient 1, patient 2, and patient 3, respectively. |
