Zusammenfassung: | Intense, water-dispersible blue-emitting Eu2+-doped BaMgAl10O17 (Eu2+: BAM) phosphor was prepared using a simple solution combustion process at relatively lower (∼600°C) temperatures compared to conventional methods. In the plasma display panel, the Eu2+ activated barium magnesium Aluminate (BAM) phosphor has been conventionally adapted as a blue-emitting component in many displays because of its availability and high (>98%) quantum efficiency. BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ (BAM) phosphor was prepared in two steps using the auto-combustion method followed by sintering in reducing atmosphere. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the crystalline phase of BAM nanophosphor as a hexagonal structure. The Scanning Electron microscopy (SEM) observation shows the uniform distribution of rectangular-type of morphology for the as-prepared nanophosphor. Detailed investigation of photoluminescence has done in the present paper. These results are promising and suggest that the BAM nanophosphor is highly useful in enhancing the color purity in the plasma display panels. |
