The use of antibiotics in the inflammatory periodontal disease treatment has led to the selection and spread of multiple resistant microflora strains [1]. In this situation, phyto preparations are of particular importance. Berberine, the main active component of barberry root extract, has specific bacteriostatic activity against the main period onto pathogenic microorganisms. The data obtained in this study with ultrasound Dopplerography and histopathology methods indicate the effectiveness of a dental gel based on barberry root extract 0.015 mg / g use in the inflammatory periodontal disease treatment.
