Zusammenfassung: | TOC is one of the crucial parameter for determine potencial zone of shale hydrocarbon play. TOC can be measured on the core rock but this data is limited. Schmoker – Hester method and Passey method is two of the most popular method to predict TOC value. These methods are determined from TOC data of marine and pre-tertiary shale rock in United States and Canada. Meanwhile, shale rock in Indonesia (mainly in Western Indonesia) is originated from lacustrine depositional environment and tertiary aged. So generally, shale rock (as source rock) in Western Indonesia has a different characteristic with shale in United States and Canada. This paper tried compare the result of TOC prediction by Schmoker – Hester method, Passey method, and Multi Linear Regression (MLR) method. The results show that the three methods have the same trend in TOC prediction curve, but the regression values are not the same. The TOC prediction has validated by TOC measurement of Rock Evaluation Instruments (core data). This research shows that MLR method gives the better TOC prediction than Schmoker-Hester method and Passey method. It is case study in Banuwati Shale Member Formation, Asri Basin, Indonesia. |
