A brief review on nickel and chromium coatings developed by electrochemical route

Electrodepositions of Nickel and Chromium have gained considerable attention during the last few decades. In this context the present paper reviews the work done in this field, paying special attention to individual metal as well as alloy coatings of Ni and Cr base prepared by electrodeposition. Uses of direct current and pulsating current have been reviewed in detail and the suitable parameters are discussed. The paper also discusses the structure of the deposit and its improved properties, with special focus on corrosion resistance, micro-hardness, adhesion, etc.
