Zusammenfassung: | The efficiency of absorption of yolk sac as a nutrient in the endogenous feeding phase is one of the important factors in determining the quality of larvae in the post larval phase which is very critical to the adaptation to the environment. This paper reports the application of fine bubbles (FBs) generator in the rearing media to improve the performance of striped catfish larvae in the endogenous feeding phase. Hatched catfish eggs were incubated in a 3-liter cylindrical container filled with 2.5 liters of water. The level of stocking density of striped catfish larvae tested was 40 ind.L−1 without FBs, 40 ind.L−1, 80 ind.L−1 and 120 ind.L−1 using FBs. The experimental design was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The parameters observed were egg yolk absorption rate, larval length growth rate and egg yolk absorption efficiency. The results showed that the use of FBs in rearing media of 80 ind.L−1 density improved the performance of endogenous feeding striped catfish larvae in term of their absorption rate of yolk sac 2.01% (control 1.95%), long growth rate 1.83% (control 1.75%) and yolk sac utilization efficiency of 0.91% (control). |
