Structural and bonding characteristic of composite gelatine-PVA-Zn for phantom breast cancer applications

Phantom has been synthesized from Gelatine and PVA with additional of Zn (0.5 g, 1.5 g, 2.5 g) to form composite Gelatin-PVA-Zn. Zusammenfassung:Phantom has been synthesized from Gelatine and PVA with additional of Zn (0.5 g, 1.5 g, 2.5 g) to form composite Gelatin-PVA-Zn. Characterization carried out by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Swelling ratio, Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR), and CT-Simulator. The PVA-Gelatine and to is used to improve the elasticity which has a similar form of breast. The function of Zn in this experiment has increased the radiation absorption sample. The characterization result shows the addition of Zn and gelatine can decrease the elasticity of phantom breast cancer from the swelling test ratio. XRD data confirms the formation of new structures of the addition of Gelatine and Zn. FTIR has confirmed the bond of phantom breast cancer is hydroxyl group at the absorption area of 3429 cm−1. CT-Simulator shows the attenuation of coefficient of about 0.2 cm−1 and the mass density is 1.074 g/m3.
