Zusammenfassung:In the present study the performance evaluation of EDM of EN31 using (Cu-Ti) electrode prepared by powder metallurgy method has been examined. EN31 Steel has been valuable material for ball and roller bearing, shafts studs, die and punches among other uses which require high toughness and excellent surface finish. However, EN31 Steel is always cut materials by non-traditional machining processes. In this present investigation, conventional electrode and powder metallurgy electrodes are used to drill blind craters in EN31 Steel work piece. Taguchi Method has been implemented to improve the response parameter surface roughness using Powder Metallurgy electrodes in EDM for the machining of EN31. It has been found that surface roughness is more in negative polarity as analyzed to positive polarity and it increases when the experiments are performed using powder metallurgy toolelectrodes.
