Zusammenfassung:The charged-particle veto (CPV) detector of the ALICE experiment is a multi-wire proportional chamber with pad readout. It is designed to improve photon identification in the photon spectrometer PHOS. One module of the CPV detector was put in operation during the LHC Run2 in 2015. We present the performance of the CPV during Pb-Pb collisions at s=5.02TeV and compare these to the previously obtained results for pp collisions at s=13TeV. We discuss the efficiency of charged-particle track reconstruction in the CPV and photon identification in the ALICE photon spectrometer using the CPV detector both in pp and Pb-Pb collisions.
