Zusammenfassung: | This study aims to prepared CaCO3 and CaO from eggshell waste in order to increase the value of the waste become useful material in the industrial field. The use of quail eggshell waste as an alternative material is a solution to reduce environmental pollution. Quail eggshell is a waste with high calcium content therefore, it can be used as an alternative substitute for CaO/CaCO3. The synthesis of CaO/CaCO3 from quail eggshell was using solid-state reaction in a ball milling process with a variation of milling time. As synthesized samples were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The phase, morphological and functional groups characterization of CaO/CaCO3 from quail eggshell involve ball milling with variations of milling time at 3 h, 5 h, and 7 h and the calcination process at 1000 °C in the air for 1 hour. XRD results show CaCO3 and CaO were successfully synthesized from quail eggshell waste with the smallest particle size of 46.24nm and 104.54 respectively. SEM images show a change in structure between the raw and calcined sample. FTIR results showed changes in the functional group from calcium carbonate to calcium oxide because of the calcination process. |
