Zusammenfassung: | Indonesia is the center of origin of salacca fruits, so it has a high diversity of salacca species. Salacca sp are dioecious, so they are crossed freely. Interspecific crosses result in high genetic diversity that can be selected and utilized to produce new, improved varieties. This research aims to know genetic variability and phenotypic, the character of salacca fruit from crossbreeding of Pondoh and Salacca Jawa. The research was conducted from 2010-2011 in Experimental Garden in Aripan of Indonesian Fruits Research Institute (ITFRI). The experimental design used was a randomized block design with 50 accession numbers of salacca as treatment and repeated twice. Salacca accession used is hybrid salacca originating from a cross with parent salacca Pondoh X Jawa1, Salacca Pondoh × Jawa2, Salacca Pondoh × Jawa3, Salacca Pondoh × Mawar and Jawa4 × Salacca Pondoh. The results showed that 50 hybrids salacca have high genetic diversity for fruit weight character, fruit length. The fifty hybrids tested were divided into 8 groups when based on the 0.3 similarity coefficient. The high diversity of fruit weight character will increase the possibility of selection activity in assembly new superior variety with desired big weigh fruit characters. |
