Zusammenfassung:Pipelines are considered to be the most critical component for deepwater oil and gas transportation. Most offshore pipelines are designed using risk assessment and management to reduce and mitigate the possible risks. A failure may lead to huge economic lost and even environmental pollution. Based on an offshore classification society, offshore pipeline failure statistics have been collected for more than 30 years and it is depicted that the pipeline predominantly fails as a result of corrosion. For the continuous safe operation, it is necessary in any damage to prevent either progressive failure or sudden collapse. The main aim of the present study is to investigate the detection and monitor of offshore pipeline damage from offshore platform operated in south china sea. This problem is addressed with the risk based inspection (RBI) method. This paper presents a method which incorporates into the research area concerning the reliability, maintenance and inspection of pipeline in offshore production system. Based on the analysis, it is highlighted that the proposed method is proven to improve the maintenance management strategies using risk based inspection planning. In addition, the interval of inspection as well as the remanining life time of the system has been successfully predicted.
