Use of x-ray for preserving the cultural heritage

The article provides a brief overview of the possibilities of non-destructive testing of the analysis, identification and restoration of works of art and other monuments of cultural heritage. The possibilities of X-ray control allow not only to reveal the heterogeneity and geometric structure of the objects under study, but also provide: detection of illegal attachments and hidden images, suppression of attempts to create duplicates issued for author’s works. Solve the problem of illegal circulation of works of art, which is acute in Russia and some other countries with a rich history.
